1. Mass Lane Upload in PDF format
Mass Lane Upload allows users to upload PDF documents and automatically generate lanes. A new “Upload Hub” button has been added above the left-hand menu.
Availability
- This is a separate module for Pharma Manufacturers and Freight Forwarders. Please reach out to us if you are interested.
How It Works
- Editors and Tenant Administrators can upload up to 50 PDFs (max. 10 MB each).
- The system extracts transport steps, carriers, locations, durations, packaging rules, and transfers.
- A Draft Lane is automatically created.
- If key data is missing, the respective step is not generated.
Draft Lanes & Confirmation
- All uploaded lanes receive Draft status.
- Draft lanes appear under Uploaded Lane.
- They are excluded from dashboards, workflows, exports, and counts.
- Customer Success validates each lane before confirmation.
2. Ocean Lane Duration Display Updated (Days / Hours / Minutes)
For ocean Lanes due to the long logistics duration, the step and phase durations are now displayed in days, hours, and minutes format. The day-based duration will also be visible in the related PDF.
3. Hide Maps on Lanes (and in PDFs)
Lane owners (Tenant Administrator and Lane Responsible) can now hide or show the map using a new toggle. The map can be enabled/disabled in any Lane workflow status.
- If the map is hidden, no users will see the map in Validaide, nor in the PDF.
- If the map is enabled, all users will see the map in both Validaide and in the PDF.
4. Bulk Copy for Lanes, SOPs, and Route Evaluations
A new bulk “Copy” action is now available, allowing users to copy multiple items at once from the Lane and SOP listings pages, as well as from the Lanes tabs under the My Locations and My Suppliers menus. This feature is available to Tenant Administrators and Editors. Only owned lanes can be copied; shared lanes received from another party cannot be copied. The copied items are created in “No Workflow” status. The new Lane created is logged in the Lane and SOP Audit Trail and in the Tenant Admin Audit Trails.
5. Request Lane Deactivation in Bulk in any Workflow Status
Pharma Manufacturers and Freight Forwarder can now bulk-request deactivation of Lanes in any workflow status. This does not deactivate the Lane automatically: the Lane workflow status does not change, and the Lane remains active until the Lane Responsible receives a task/deactivation notification and manually opens the Lane to deactivate it.
The bulk deactivation request can only be sent if the Lane has a Responsible user assigned, and it can be requested by any Tenant Admin or Editor for both shared and unshared Lanes. The reason field is required to request Lane deactivation.
6. Mark a Lane as Active/Inactive in Any Workflow Status
Freight Forwarders can now update whether a Lane is currently used for transportation in any Lane workflow status. This removes the previous restriction where a Lane could only be marked inactive in “No Workflow” or “In Progress” status. The deactivation can be performed by the Tenant Administrator, Lane Responsible, and the Contributor. The rest of the General Information card remains locked outside of “In Progress” status in the following statuses: External Review, External QA Review, Internal Review, Internal QA Review, About to Expire, Expired, and Approved. The deactivation is recorded in the Lane Audit trail and the Tenant Admin Audit Trail.
7. Bulk Reassign SOP Contacts (Tenant Administrator)
Tenant Administrators can now bulk-reassign SOP Contacts by replacing one user with another, similarly to how Tasks and Roles are reassigned. This functionality is available for both own and shared SOPs. Tenant Administrators can also reassign contacts to themselves. Reassignment can be performed in any workflow status.
Companies can only reassign contacts to their own employees. The reassigned user receives both an automated email and an in-app notification. All changes are logged in both the Tenant Administrator Audit Trail and the SOP Audit Trail.
Exception: Contacts that were manually added in SOPs (i.e., not created as users in Validaide) must still be updated manually.
8. SOPs and Route Evaluations Are Editable Only in “In Progress” and “No Workflow”
SOPs and Route Evaluations can now be modified only in “In Progress” and “No Workflow” statuses. In other statuses, the User Roles remain editable under the Configuration tab and the Version Control tab to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities and tasks.
Important note about attached Lanes: It is not possible to attach or remove Lanes, or to categorize them into Pre-carriage, On-carriage, Primary, or Back-up categories. However, Lanes that are already attached can still be modified at any time and their workflow statuses can be changed. Lanes can only be attached or removed within the SOP/Route Evaluation when the SOP/Route Evaluation is in the “In Progress” status.
9. Power BI dashboards for Pharma Manufacturer Tenant Administrators
PowerBI reports “Advanced” tab is only accessible/visible by the Tenant Administrators or Premium Manufacturers. When clicking on the Tenant Administration menu dashboard, the user will see an additional tab labeled “Advanced” that contains a link to Power BI. Selecting it will display the following:
- Completed task and pending task per user
- Average approval duration in days
- Lanes per Origin/Destination
- Number of approved lanes per packaging type
- Lanes rejected by QA
- Lanes rejected by first level of approval
10. Customize Password Reset / Set Link Validity Duration
Tenant Administrator can now configure how long password set and password reset links should remain valid. The configuration allows 15 minutes, 1 hour (default) and 24 hours options.
11. Enhancements on the Users assigned to Read and Sign the SOP
- Filtering improvements
Users can filter Internal users (owned SOP) and External users (when they receive the SOP) to find an assigned user for Read & Sign.
- SOP CSV also includes the Users assigned for Read & Sign.
12. UX/UI Improvements Across Lanes, SOPs, and Route Evaluations
- Flash messages are now visible for 10 seconds.
- In SOPs and Route Evaluations and in the related PDFs the Lane Approval and Expiration dates are now visible.
- The Lane characterization PDF disclaimer is now company-specific to reduce confusion when PDFs are printed and shared externally, outside of Validaide.
- Introducing Whatfix: A new in-app guidance tool that provides guided flows, interactive task lists, contextual tooltips, and AI-powered self-help support to help users navigate the platform more easily and improve overall adoption and usage.
Bug Fixes:
- When configuring connecting flights in a lane, transfer handling step was displaying incorrect duration. This has been fixed and connecting flights with transfer handling can now be configured correctly.
- When downloading a lane PDF, the assessment graph previously displayed incorrect mapping for Product/Ambient Temperature exposure and instead showed values for Temperature Protection by Packaging Type. This has been fixed and the graph now reflects the correct temperature exposure mapping.
- In SOP workflows, when an SOP was in “Approved” or “About to Expire” status and had external signers assigned (who had received tasks to sign), and the SOP was later no longer externally shared, the tasks previously sent to external signers remained pending and unactionable. This has been fixed and such tasks are no longer displayed.
- In SOP and Lane workflows, when a second QA Approver was removed after the first one had approved, submitting the “Modify User Roles” form resulted in an error, and the SOP and Lane status did not update to “Approved.” This has been fixed; the error no longer occurs, and the status now updates correctly.
- In Workflow role dropdowns, inactive users were not clearly identifiable. This has been fixed and inactive users are now marked accordingly to prevent unintended selection.
