User Roles
In the process of defining, approving, and maintaining capabilities/lanes / SOPs, two user roles are used, which can be assigned to any Editor:
- Responsible: This person is responsible for the data that is being collected and for filling in the questionnaire, and then submitting it for review. They are also responsible for responding to incoming sharing requests. This role is originally assigned by the person who requests the capabilities and may be changed later.
- Reviewer: This person reviews the Location or Company capabilities. This role can also be changed later. For Lanes and SOPs, this role is called Approver.
At larger forwarders, Responsible user and Reviewer roles are often assigned to two different users for verification purposes.
The Administrator is a user with special access rights, and can therefore edit, submit, and approve questionnaires without being assigned to either of these roles.
When defining capabilities in a workflow, in case of the same user being the Responsible and the Reviewer, the user is able to review the capabilities in one step.
The Responsible user for a location can be changed by the Administrator, the Requester, or the current Responsible for that given location.
Modifying User Roles
The steps for changing these roles are the following:
- Go to the My Locations menu
- Click on the name of the location for which you would like to change any of these roles
- In the Configuration tab, in the section User Roles, click on the pencil icon to modify the user roles. Click on the name and select the user name to whom you would like to reassign the role.
