Enabling Single Sign-On (SSO) for an organization changes the way users and passwords are managed in Validaide.
What follows are answers to frequently asked questions about the SSO.
To enable SSO:
Q: How will the login page change for the users?
A: When SSO is enabled, users will need to log in to the Validaide platform by typing both their email address and password.
Note: Existing users won’t receive any notification email if his/her profile is switched to an SSO-enabled profile!
Q: If SSO is enabled, what will happen to the new users added to the SSO gateway?
A: They will be able to log in to Validaide as “Viewers” (viewing-only access rights). The tenant administrator will then be able to edit their roles and information.
How to change the user type between viewer and editor?
Q: How can an SSO-enabled user change their password on the Validaide platform?
A: SSO users can change their passwords on the platform by clicking on the arrow icon in the top right corner, selecting "Your Profile", and clicking on the "Change Password" button.
Q: Do Validaide password policies remain in effect for SSO users?
A: Yes. Validaide enforces the following rules regarding the password of SSO users.
Q: If a tenant administrator needs to disable SSO, will a user's password revert to what it was before SSO was enabled?
A: For users who had an account before SSO was enabled, the password will revert to what it was before SSO was enabled.
Q: If SSO is enabled, can the user still invite colleagues?
A: No, the “Invite colleagues” feature is no longer available, as the users will be added directly to the SSO gateway.
Q: If SSO is enabled, can the tenant admin still add users?
A: No, the “Add user” feature is no longer available, as users will be added directly to the SSO gateway.
Q: If SSO is enabled, what information can still be changed under my profile?
A: All information can still be changed, except for the first and family name.
Nor the tenant administrator will be able to change the above information for the users of his company.
Q: Do I need to type my password when I approve Lanes and/or SOPs?
A: When SSO is enabled, users must type their email and password to approve Lanes and SOPs.
Note: SSO Companies can choose whether to enable or disable sign-off with email and password. A toggle "Require email and password when signing electronic records" is in Tenant Administration Configuration Settings under the Workflow tab.
