Location Configuration
On Validaide we associate the locations with who handles the product at this location. The most important step is to determine whether the location is your own Company Location or one of your Supplier's Locations. In other words, is it owned by your company or another company, which supplies to you / does the handling on your behalf?
There are 2 possibilities when creating a new location:
- Supplier Location: When adding a Supplier Location, it is actually owned or handled by another company, but you are adding it in your own environment as well, to show that it is part of your network and to define your own view on it. E.g. for an Air Carrier, a Supplier Location is the most relevant category since most of your network locations are GHA warehouses.
- Own Company Location: It is a location owned and handled by your company. Typically for an air carrier, it is their hub, but there can be exceptions.
Note that the supplier location icon is a warehouse with a little arrow on top, while your own warehouse has a warehouse icon without the arrow.
The different configuration types determine which questionnaire modules you get to answer for the location according to the selected, therefore it is crucial that you configure them correctly.
Please see an example below of how your network should look in the "Locations menu":
Company Location
It is possible that some of your locations are already added to the system because other tenants requested them to be added. If this is the case, you can follow the below steps to define their capabilities:
- Go to the My Locations menu and click on the location name.
- Click on the
button and fill in the information in the pop-up window (assign the Responsible and Reviewer user roles).
- Click on the
button and fill in the information in the pop-up window (most importantly the Reviewer user).
-
Note: Make sure that the location is configured correctly. After you have assigned the user roles, the
section becomes visible. You can change the configuration by clicking on the pencil icon
. For your warehouse, you can also set if it has land-side and/or air-side access - generally speaking, a warehouse located at an airport should have both.
You also want to make sure that your station is located at the correct airport. In the main details section, you can select the airport accordingly.

Adding Location Active/Inactive Label
Tenant administrators and Responsible users can deactivate company locations to reflect site changes. Deactivated locations will no longer appear in the selection list when configuring Lanes and SOPs, helping to maintain data accuracy and relevance.
- To set up a label, a new field “Is this Location currently active?” has been added under Location Configuration tab > General Information, with options: Yes / No
- This label is not shown under the Market Info > Locations
- Inactive locations won’t be selectable in lane steps
- Responsible and tenant admin can update this information in any location workflow status
The Active/Inactive tag is also visible in the:
- Company/Supplier location spreadsheet
- Location overview spreadsheet
- Lane PDF
- Location PDF
