How to add packaging information?
How to publish or unpublish packaging.
In order to add packaging information, follow these steps:
-
Add your packaging groups. You can do that under "My Packaging".
- Enter the name of the packaging group, select the packaging type, and add a description. All the mandatory fields are marked as required.
Select a business model in the General tab to better reflect operational differences across packaging types. This helps distinguish between different logistics processes associated with packaging:
- Rental typically applies to multi-use packaging that involves reverse logistics.
- Purchase is usually associated with single-use packaging.
By capturing this information, we ensure more accurate modeling of packaging operations and their impact on lane assessments.
3. After having added a Packaging Group, you can add Packaging by clicking the "+ Packaging" button.
Please note. Only users with tenant administrator access can add, edit, or delete packaging information.
When adding new packaging, the most recently added packaging is on top of the list, sorting from most recent to oldest.
4. When adding Packaging, the following information has to be defined:
- General:
- Packaging name.
- Part Number
- Pharmaceutical product temperature range.
- Configuration:
- The qualified duration of packaging.
- Refrigerant used for packaging.
- Insulation is used for packaging.
- Dimensions: In the Dimensions tab, when adding a packaging solution, all fields are now required, except for the Thermal Blanket product group.
- Thermal Blanket product group - For Thermal Blankets, only the external dimensions and tare weight are required fields.
- Reusability - Packaging companies can now specify whether their packaging product is single-use or multi-use (the default is single-use for all new and existing packages).
- Selecting multi-use reveals additional fields for more details.
4. After having added packaging, you can publish it by clicking on "Publish".
Please note. Only published packaging will be visible to pharmaceutical manufacturers and forwarders.

What types of files can I upload to Validaide?
Sustainability Configuration section - Users can now add multiple new fields related to Reusability, Materials, and Reverse logistics under the Configuration tab under "Sustainability". This section is available for newly created and existing packages, allowing packaging providers to update sustainability data for previously added packages.
Note: If the total weight of the materials exceeds the tare weight, an error message will appear, indicating that the inputs need to be adjusted.
- When Multi-Use is selected, the Reverse Logistics for Air is automatically set to 100% by default.
Reverse Logistics Evidence - Companies offering multi-use packaging must provide evidence of reverse logistics to support their claim of sturdiness and reusability.
After having added additional visual materials, you can publish it by clicking on "Publish".
Please note. Only published packaging will be visible to pharmaceutical manufacturers and forwarders and can be added to their list of approved packaging.
How to publish or unpublish packaging.
To publish packaging, click on the publish button.
To unpublish your product, select the product you would like to unpublish and click on the "Unpublish" button.
Note: Outdated fields warning message - Outdated information is clearly indicated with an exclamation mark icon. For packaging manufacturers, when adding a single-use packaging, in the packaging overview screen, it is now clearly indicated with a warning sign if required data is missing. We previously introduced a sustainability baseline for packaging manufacturers, but single-use packaging was missing a warning when material data wasn’t provided. Since this data is needed to calculate sustainability metrics, we have now added a warning label to alert users when information is incomplete.
